Entering Interstate Art Prizes

How do you ensure arrival of your artwork within the specified dates if you are lucky enough to be a finalist? I am interested in entering the Hadley’s Art Prize in Tasmania or the Lethbridge Landscape Art Prize in Queensland. However, the arrival dates for the artworks are for within 2 specific days and I worry that I couldn’t coordinate the delivery for those dates. Of course, this is all hypothetical as I likely won’t be a finalist.... but it’s great to be hopeful. Thanks for any input :)

This is also something that I've wondered about and can't speak from any personal experience but I wonder whether the organisers could be contacted to assist with:

* Connecting with artists local to the area who could take the work in for you when delivering their own (so you freight to them say a week before and they deliver for you in the allocated timeframe).

* Offering a selected freight company that all interstate entrants go through to coordinate logistics.

Other ideas could be:

* Finding a friend or relative who lives local to the show to help deliver for you.

* Putting a call out on your social media channels to see if any fellow artists have ways to make this work.

It's a bit challenging isn't it! But I'm sure there are creative ways around these things.

Good luck
