Acrylic Paint Investigation

Over the last few months I have done lots and lots of investigations with acrylic paint and thought it might be cool to share them on the forum. I have never done much investigating previous and although it won't change what I do in my practice it has opened my eyes to learning more about the materials and products that I use and being more familiar with the way they react to applications and other materials. So far my favourite investigation has been the rice flour and oats.

Interesting read Peta.

Rice flour paste mention reminds me of the centuries old tradition of using it to make floor paintings in India. It is still practised as domestic ritual activity during festivals in various regions and is called as Aripan/ Alpona/ Kolam/ Rangoli. Each style has distinct characteristics.
