Wandering the Laneways

Wandering the Laneways

This is my ‘selfie’ created during Covid lockdown. Each day, when we could walk for an hour within 5km of our house, and later when we could go as far as 10km, my husband and I would explore the laneways within this range, and I would pick up trash for my artworks. When I could finally return to the studio, I used the pieces of trash I liked best (especially those that were rusty or textured) to create a laneway ‘view from above’, representing the activity that kept me focused, positive and resilient during what was a very difficult time for those of us living in Victoria.
