Self Portrait with Doll

Self Portrait with Doll

In "Self Portrait with Doll," I use black and white photography, dolls, and deliberate blur to explore my identity as an artist with autism, facial prosopagnosia, and depression. Dolls stand in for faces I can’t recognize, their stillness reflecting my emotional isolation. Blur obscures details, echoing depression’s haze and my blurred perception of others. The monochromatic palette underscores the weight of my inner world. My work is a raw exploration of neurodiversity and disconnection, inviting viewers to confront the silent complexities of identity and emotional survival in a fragmented psyche.
