Greet The Sun

The exhibition theme, Selfie, will have had creatives thinking a bit until they realise that perhaps artists’ work is often a reflection of themselves, how they are feeling or dealing with all the ‘things’. 

This photographic montage, Greet the Sun, is a calm, meditative, almost yogic scene inviting the viewer to reflect on what they see, how they feel and interpret the symbolism contained in it. Do you resonate with the sun, tree, sunset/sunrise, water, mist or sky? One, some or all?

For example, close examination of the tree reveals several limbs have been removed. Though the the tree still has a poetic elegance, experiences with the hand of man has re-shaped this tree to what it is today. So it is with our experiences - removing a limb (metaphorically speaking) - here and there over the years that makes us who we are - scarred, imperfect and glorious.
