Yukiko Abe-Kruithof is a visual artist, based in Melbourne, Australia. Her practice spans painting, line drawing and cutout, primarily utilizing the translucency of watercolour.

She has always been a bridge between different cultures and perspectives, working as a language teacher, translator and personal assistant as well as living in various environments as a child.

Captivated by life’s impermanence and its inherent beauty, Abe-Kruithof is interested in human connection. How we transcend boundaries of separateness and feel truly connected with others, including objects, and our authentic selves, part of the Universe, by being present in the fleeting moment.

Abe-Kruithof's works have been exhibited at the Consulate General of Japan in Melbourne multiple times as well as in group exhibitions.

WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRADITIONAL OWNERS OF THE LAND WHERE WE WORK AND LIVE. WE PAY OUR RESPECTS TO ELDERS PAST, PRESENT AND EMERGING AND TO ALL FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE.
