Carl Ardron is a Melbourne-based artist and designer whose practice explores the intersection of technology and tradition. Through Living Artifact Design, he creates bespoke portrait sculptures that blend 3D scanning and digital sculpting with the timeless craft of plaster casting. Each work is hand-finished, ensuring that while technology provides precision, artistry brings warmth, individuality, and emotional depth.

With a background in both systems architecture and creative experimentation, Carl approaches sculpture with a methodical yet deeply human perspective. His pieces, ranging from intimate single portraits to expansive family friezes, are designed to capture presence, memory, and connection in enduring form.

Carl’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that art should be both accessible and meaningful. By streamlining the technical process without compromising craftsmanship, he makes portraiture a living artifact: a celebration of identity, family, and legacy.

WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRADITIONAL OWNERS OF THE LAND WHERE WE WORK AND LIVE. WE PAY OUR RESPECTS TO ELDERS PAST, PRESENT AND EMERGING AND TO ALL FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE.
