Astrid Lempriere is a Geelong-based visual artist specialising in lino prints, intuitive abstract paintings, and murals. Her artistic journey began with a Certificate III in Visual Arts at Oxygen College in 2020, where an introduction to printmaking sparked a deep creative direction. Since holding her first exhibition in 2021, Astrid has received four Highly Commended awards, presented multiple solo exhibitions, and participated in numerous group shows and art competitions.
Deeply influenced by her lived experience with ASD and dyslexia, Astrid embraces her neurodivergence as a source of creativity, resilience, and unconventional problem-solving. This perspective informs her intricate lino prints, which explore emotion, human connection, and storytelling through detailed carved linework, as well as her expressive abstract works.
In recent years, Astrid has expanded into mural art, bringing bold, engaging imagery to public spaces, classrooms, and disability hubs. Her mural practice grew significantly through a mentorship with renowned muralist Kasper Art, who supported her development in large-scale design, layering techniques, and navigating the professional mural industry. This experience has strengthened her confidence and propelled her further into the public-art space.
Alongside her studio practice, Astrid is passionate about community engagement. She regularly runs lino printing workshops throughout Geelong and beyond, meeting participants where they are, adapting to diverse learning styles, and creating welcoming, accessible creative experiences. For Astrid, carving, printing, and sharing art is not only a practice it’s a way to foster connection, belonging, and empowerment within her community.
