Moonlight, in Port Phillip Bay
I’m in love with watercolour. The fluidity, unpredictability, requirement to go with the flow and to adapt to what’s in front of you while painting, mirrors life. My paintings are as diverse in style and subject as nature itself. Realistic, impressionist or abstract, they communicate our world through watercolour – ranging from our land, sky, sea, animals, insects to our people and communities.
In this painting ‘Moonlight, in Port Phillip Bay’ I wanted to convey the movement of the water and the depth of the unknown under the waves. Art can take a person to places they want to be – and that’s what I love giving to the owners of my work; reliving their memories, feelings and experiences that are meaningful to them. I’m so lucky to be able to do this for other people.
