Moody Blues - Mildura
The challenge was to paint in monochrome and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. As a further test, I decided to paint in opposing colours to the original scene which resulted in a complete shift from day to night. This image of a stretch of the Murray River is a peaceful dawn coloured by the dusty tones of ochres and siennas of the Australian bush. By using tones of Prussian Blue I found that it switched the appearance of the view to a night moon. Inspired by a photo by Rodney Onslow.
