Memories of Aunty Jan

The series of paintings of which this is a part which started out as exercises in brush control and colour mixing and turned into a series of watercolour still lifes. 
 
The objects are from my home but the abstracted backgrounds mean they could be anyone's kitchen. I'm interested in how our homes can be very similar yet very different.
 
This piece "Memories of Aunty Jan" features a blender that used to belong to my Aunt, painted in her favourite colours.
