Conversations with my Younger Self

This work interprets the theme of Shadows At Play by focusing on the idea of past memories as a shadow. Something that is constantly with you, something that is never too far out of reach and something that can distort and change throughout time. My work, Conversations With My Younger Self draws focus on the idea of uniting my past and present self. Captured in a playful depiction, the two figures communicate an energy exchange as the older one holds out a gourd to the younger figure. A gourd, in Chinese culture is believed to hold magical powers, it represents protection, good fortune and wisdom for the person who receives it.
