Kaya is an artist based in the Northern suburbs if Melbourne. Predominantly a printmaker she does explore other mediums from time to time. Kayas work explores the concepts of visionary art, animism and anthropomorphism and how these concepts relate to identity and environment. Most of her work us a deeply personal exploration of her own mental health, identity and place in the world. Kaya also explores the idea of the world as a living organism and seeing life in inanimate objects. Her influences are from animistic traditions from the East and West.
