I normally spend a large part of each year travelling to different cultures around the world. The women I see on my travels inspire and influence my work, or as I call them “my girls”.

"Kate Girls" are all handmade and they tell me their personalities as I sculpt their face and hair. Once dry they are bisque fired to 1000°. They are then glazed and raku fired, sometimes multiple times.

The majority of their jewellery is recycled and found just as it's about to be bulldozed into landfill.

It's impossible to find two "Kate Girls" the same and the minor imperfections are the beauty of being lovingly created.
