Karen is a self-taught coloured pencil artist from the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. She began drawing at an early age, encouraged by artistic parents. Lots of time spent in the outdoors as a child fostered a lifelong love of animals and wildlife. She dabbled in a little wildlife art in her early twenties, then put away her pencils to concentrate on family life and children, and after a 15 year break began drawing again in 2018 to work on some pet portraits for friends and family.

Her main focus now is still pet portraits by commission, along with other animal-themed artworks and a plan to expand into selling prints and cards.
