Jackie Jackson

Jax Studio Melbourne

Jackie Jackson studied Graphic Design and Printmaking at Box Hill TAFE in 1996. After graduating she went on to have a 22-year career in graphic design working in Australia as well as the United Kingdom.

When not designing Jackie created constantly and held exhibitions in Melbourne galleries as well as having a studio in Brunswick Street Fitzroy. Her first solo exhibition in 2009 was held at The Collingwood Gallery, she then went on to regularly exhibit at The Brunswick Street gallery having a solo show as well as entering various group exhibitions.

In 2011-2013 she opened Exhibit Artist Space, an art gallery in Kyneton where she held exhibitions for established as well as up and coming artists before returning to Melbourne to continue her career as a graphic designer and artist.

A few years ago, in an attempt to get away from the computer her passion for printmaking was reignited and she began developing her own style, combining her graphic and illustration knowledge using relief and intaglio drypoint printing.

Attending many printmaking studio sessions both here and in Italy has given her access to talented printmakers as mentors. Jackie’s work is illustrative and focuses on composition and the use of line and colour for contrast.

Jackie Jackson’s work is on display for students at Jax Studio Melbourne where she produces her own work, as well as running workshops where she enjoys sharing the art of printmaking with her students.
