Htet Yadanar Wai is a Burmese-Australian emerging artist from Melbourne. Her practices are painting and sculpting. Her main medium is oil, and she sometimes dabbles in watercolour, gouache, and acrylic.
Her art journey began in 2017 where she focused on realism, but throughout the years she has developed a style that is between expressionism and surrealism. She has utilised her art to tell her story as a Burmese immigrant in Australia and as someone who has continuously struggled with mental health.
Htet’s artwork stems heavily from her emotions and the experiences she has faced. Her style and symbolisms are inspired by Burmese culture.
She hopes you will follow her journey on growing as an artist and as a person.
